Votorantim Cimentos North America increases its capacity in Batavia with acquisition of Western N Y Concrete Corp.

Toronto, 7/12/2024.
Votorantim Cimentos North America (VCNA) announced today that it has
acquired Western N Y Concrete Corp., a well-established ready-mix concrete producer
located in the dynamic area of Batavia, New York. This acquisition will strengthen VCNA’s
presence in the region, complementing its United Materials operations.

outstanding work of the Penepent family,” said Edilson Chimilovski, VCNA Vice President
Ready Mix and Aggregates.

was started in 1936 as Western N.Y. Gravel by Anthony Penepent. The company changed its
name to Western N Y Concrete Corp. in 1962, when it also incorporated Penn-Crete
Construction Corp as part of its operations. Today, the company operates a plant built in
2007 and is managed by cousins Joseph and Vincent Penepent, along with Joseph’s wife,
Jeanne, with the entire family having some part in running the business.
